Health

Raising healthy children is a primary objective of the Rockingham County Partnership for Children. Woven into many of our services is a focus on children’s health and wellness, including an emphasis on accessing medical care through a primary provider of medical services. Families are encouraged to visit their child’s primary provider of medical care for well child check-ups and immunizations.

  • Children in child care benefit from the services of the Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) who works with child care facilities to improve children’s health and safety.
  • In the spring of each year, RCPC sponsors GO FAR (Go Out For A Run©), a physical education and character building program that helps combat childhood obesity.
  • 3 and 4 year old children can participate in the countywide Preschool Screenings held each summer. Children receive a developmental screening along with dental, vision and hearing screenings.
  • Children participating in Parents as Teachers receive annual developmental screenings.

Staff at the Partnership for Children are always happy to assist you with locating needed services for your young child and family. For more information please contact our office at (336) 342-9676.
