The
Rockingham County Partnership for Children (RCPC) is a public, private
non-profit organization that administers Smart Start funds for the use
of enhancing services for children birth through five years in Rockingham
County.
Our mission is helping all children enter school healthy and ready to
succeed. RCPC works towards this mission by seeking out agencies, organizations
and individuals that work with young children and their families and looking
for opportunities to collaborate and enhance or create needed services.
The Rockingham County Partnership for Children Board of Directors has
adopted a set of 4 priorities regarding the allocation of Smart Start
funds. They are:
Increasing
the number of families accessing services in Rockingham County.
All children
will have a primary provider of medical care that will look at vision,
dental, immunization, early intervention, blood lead levels, obesity and
child abuse/neglect.
Increased
compensation & benefits for child care providers by supporting and requiring
continuous education and commitment to a child care facility.
Increasing
the number of children receiving subsidized child care to be enrolled
in regulated child care facilities.
These priorities were adopted based on a Performance Based Incentive System
(PBIS) that is required by the NC Legislation. PBIS is a set of standards
that each local partnership within the State must strive to achieve. Additional
and continued funding will be based on each local partnership's ability
to achieve the PBIS standards. For more information
